REALITY CHECK
By: Lawrence Langman
See the girl, she's walking down the street.
It's late at night, she's got no place to be.
We send our money across the seven seas.
To feed the hungry, and the people in need.

But all across this big vast land.
We have this problem, help our fellow man.
Our hearts go out to those people in need,
Way across those seven seas.

Open your eyes, they're not alone.
We have so many that have no home.
Starving children down our avenues.
Shoot to kill, they have nothing to lose.

All they know is the will to survive,
But in the morning, many will die.
So many of us have plenty to eat,
Food on our tables, plenty to drink.

Through the garbage, they find their meals.
Wondering why life gave them this deal.
Was it something they could have done wrong?
Or is this the start of another sad song?

So many people don't want to believe.
This is not just a problem, this is a disease.
A lot of our rich just turn their heads,
Then walk on past thinking they're better off dead.

To all those people, I have one thing to say,
Move to the country you would rather save.

A GIRL LIKE YOU
By: Lawrence Langman
We were playing in the park, there was dancing in the dark.
Trying to hit our mark, with a girl like you.
I didn't know her name, she was driving me insane.
Dropping men like rain, What am I to do?

With a flutter of her eyes, and the swinging of her thighs.
A goddess in disguise. Wow, she's for you.
But you gotta love her game, she's a sinner all the way.
In such a wicked way, she'll have you.

If you look into her eyes, you'll start melting by her side.
And never be the wise, cause she's got you.

We were playing in the park, there was dancing in the dark.
Trying to hit our mark, with a girl like you.
I didn't know her name, she was driving me insane.
Dropping men like rain, What am I to do?

If there was a way, for a girl to enslave.
She has the ball and chain, just for you.
She'll terrorize your life, by trying to be your wife.
And keep you out of sight, so you can't choose.

You need to keep your head, in and out of bed.
You're not the living dead, she's not for you.

TEARS OF A RIVER
By: Lawrence Langman
In the silence of the night, the moon is shining bright.
Through the echoes in the night, brings back love.
I can hear the voices scream, and the far off distant streams.
For the answers to our prayers, they are everywhere.
From the crying of a child, to that deep dark country mile.
To that smile that drives me wild, love is everything!
When we heard the preacher say, will you take this ring,
And be my bride to be, and live so happily.
Ever after was the plan, like a frayed and brittle strand.
Now those echoes keep coming back, and haunting me.
Now that river over flows, oh that night it felt so cold.
For the love I long to hold, drifted away from me.
So each and everyday, I return to the banks and pray.
To the place that's now her grave, where my heart will always stay.
I know the moment, it will come. When our lives can be as one.
But for now I must move on, from the love I grew so fond.
So until the powers from above, close my eyes,
You will be the only love, I'll ever hold inside.
